She tries to understand where that person is coming from, and tends to understand them a little better. She shows sympathy for those who deserve it, and brings kindness to those that need it. Nanami is known to try and find the good side of others. she tends to focus on the positive aspect of a situation, instead of immediately thinking that it's no use. she always has a smile on her face, hoping to share that smile with others around her. Nanami believes that honesty is the best policy, whether it hurts ones feelings or it's not pleasant for the ears. She sticks to her mother's motto, "if the truth hurts, suck it up." Though there are times when Nanami can be brutally honest, making her seem rather blunt. However, her honesty can also help change a person, probably for the better. Nanami was raised on how to depend on yourself whenever in a tough situation, or if you're traveling alone. There are times when you must think of yourself first instead of focusing on another person. Because of past situations, Nanami has become very capable of taking care of herself and her Pokemon.
If one were to get on her bad side, Nanami would either lash out at them instantly, or snap their heads off. She has a nasty temper if one were to make her angry. There are times when she has a hard time controlling that anger, but it's very rare for her anger to result in physical violence. Her sweet words become cold and harsh, and her tone stinging with venom. this tends to make people avoid her as much as possible, not wanting to be the next person to be lashed at. Nanami tends to become envious of something or someone very easily. An example of this is when she looks through a magazine and finds a picture of a beautiful female model. She envies that model's appearance, and begins to doubt her own. another example is if she has a crush on someone, and finds that person with another girl. She feels rather uncomfortable with the girl being with her crush, and she'll start asking herself what her crush sees in that girl instead of her. Nanami tends to believe almost everything she hears, which makes it easier for a person to manipulate her. she puts her trust into a person so easily, that she becomes emotionally crushed to find that the person used her or lied to her. This tends to put her into a few uncomfortable situations, ones that might get her into serious trouble, or put her life on the line. Despite Nanami's polite nature, there are times when she can come across as childlike. For example, when in an argument with her parents, she tends to whine and pout like a small child. Even though she hardly ever shows this side of her, there are times when she loses her composure, and acts younger than her actual age.[/style]

[classy=box2]♠ HISTORY[/classy][STYLE=font-family: tahoma; font-size: 10px; color: 292929;]CHILDHOOD
Nanami grew up as an only child on Lavaridge Town, Hoenn by two loving parents. She had always been fond of Pokemon but while growing up, she had been harassed, bullied and picked on by all kids her age. However, despite all the teasing, Nanami refused to let it get to her. She was a cheerful young girl, always having a smile on her face and always did her best to make friends. Nanami had almost always been found singing and dancing in front of her bedroom mirror, talking her own secret language. Her parents had taught her many things about fire type Pokemon while she was still young, and decided at the age of 8 that she would become a singer and trainer, like both her father and mother. Her mother became the biggest influence in Nanami's life as she reached the age of 8. She took notice of how madly in love she was with her father, and how she spoke of him with adoration. She admired her mother's ability to love unconditionally, and vowed to be like her one day.
ADOLESCENCE
As a teenager, Nanami developed a natural talent for singing. She started to perform for other people, including her parents. Despite this, she was still having troubles making friends with others. This made her develop a combative, nasty side to her that she shows whenever she felt threatened. That is, until she met a particular boy around her age who became her very first friend, and possibly her first crush. They were inseparable; they went everywhere together. One day when he had to leave Lavaridge Town, her heart was broken. He had given her a locket with a picture of him inside, promising her that he would come back and see her again. She continues to perform as a singer, and is still to this very day, waiting for that boy to return.
ADULTHOOD
Having just turned eighteen, Nanami has finally reached the age to leave her hometown of Lavaridge to become a Pokemon Trainer like her parents before her. Despite having waiting for the young boy she cared deeply for, she grew tired and sick of waiting, so she decided to look for him herself. She took a cruise ship off Hoenn and took off for Unova, head held high and heart racing. She had never been to Unova before, she knew. She wanted to see the world, to see what was out there. She was scared, but she was also determined to keep moving forward.[/style]
[classy=box2]♠ RP SAMPLE[/classy][STYLE=font-family: tahoma; font-size: 10px; color: 292929;]Just as Nayru rushed towards the slaves to fight, something pulled her back. Literally. She felt sharp nails grip her hair tightly and she couldn't help the scream of pain that left her lips. She was pulled back and felt a sharp pain on her left temple. She could feel the warm blood flow from the wound as she staggered backwards and fell to her knees, near a pile of dead bodies. No.... I can't give up now... she told herself mentally, her vision becoming blurry. She collapsed completely on the arena floor, trying to stay awake. The damage to her temple was bad enough to make her vision weak and nearly close to fainting. She thought at that moment, she was going to die. I can't die... Not now... I have to keep going... I want to live... she thought in her mind, her eyes slowly drifting closed. She couldn't give up... But she felt faint, and she couldn't stop herself from losing consciousness. Her eyes were half-way closed by now, and her vision began to fade. I have... to stay awake... I... have to live... I have to... I... her thoughts were stopped short as everything grew quiet, and her world went black.
*~~~~~*~~~~~*
Her consciousness began to return. The battle cries and screams where gone now; the battle must've ended. Nayru fluttered her eyes open only to shut them tight again. When did the room become so unbearable bright? Her head was throbbing as she slowly got up on her hands on knees. Trying to get on her feet, she ended up staggering and landing a small pool of blood. Her eyes widened as she got up instantly, only to hold her head to stop the dizziness. She felt blood on her face and touched her wounded temple, wincing at the pain.
What happened...? That's right... She was forced to fight for her life, here in the arena. Then she was attacked and... She couldn't remember anything else that had happened. The damage to her left temple must've been bad enough to cause a little bit of memory loss. She heard a man's voice call to her and looked up to see Lars. He wanted her to go to him, it seemed. She tried to walk but stumbled again, falling to her hands and knees. She felt him carry her and take her out of the arena.
"Where.... where are you taking me..?" she asked in a low, weak voice. No response. Was she being spared? Was she given a chance to continue living?? She didn't know... She couldn't find her voice to ask those questions. She was weak and tired, and everything seemed so bright that it hurt her eyes.
She was placed on a wooden bed, and heard Lars's voice telling her to stay where she was. She didn't try to disobey his commands, she didn't even try to fight him. She was too weak to do such things... Besides, if she tried to mess with him, he might've killed her. She watched him with half-lidded eyes, seeing him bite his own wrist. She tilted her head to one side and wondered what he was doing. Her eyes suddenly grew wide as she noticed his fangs and blood running from his wound.
He was a vampire?! That's not possible! They didn't exist... Right? She was laid down and her nose was plugged. She felt a warm, iron taste in her mouth and knew right away that it was blood. She shut her eyes tightly as the blood dripped from Lars's wound and into her mouth. She felt sick to her stomach. Once her mouth was full of blood she forced herself to swallow every drop.
She was lifted again and suddenly felt fangs sink into her neck. Her eyes widened and she tried to struggle. But Lars was holding her tight enough so that she wouldn't move. He was a vampire! And he's turning her?! She felt him suck the blood out of her body... He was killing her! A cry of pain left Nayru's lips as she tried to stop him, but couldn't find the strength to lift up her arms.
She felt him stop and fell backwards onto the bed, panting heavily. He had sucked her dry, and now she was at the mercy of the transformation. Once Lars had left the room, Nayru felt her body pulsate. She grew wide eyed as a sudden shock of pain flooded through her entire body. She couldn't stop herself from screaming as the pain grew more intense. Her back suddenly arched as the screams grew louder by the second. It was unbearable! And there was nothing she could do to make it stop. She felt tears of pain flow down the corners of her eyes as she continued to scream. The process of the transformation seemed to have taken hours, and Nayru found herself unable to scream any more and she laid flat on the wooden bed, her eyes slowly drifting shut again.
*~~~~~*~~~~~*
It was cold... Her eyes slowly fluttered open once more and turned her head slowly to see Lars sitting on the edge of the bed. How long had she been unconscious?? She saw him place his wrist near her face and realization clicked. He was offering her his blood. She tried to shake her head no but she couldn't move. She barely had the strength to even lift her head. She knew that she didn't have a choice either way. She managed to lift up her right hand and grabbed his wrist, placing it against her lips as she opened her mouth, fangs appearing as she sank them into his wrist, drinking his blood. Tears flowed down her cheeks as she continued to drink his blood. What was happening to her...?
She heard him say that she had enough blood. She hesitated but managed to stop and pulled her fangs out of his wrist slowly, laying her head back as she panted weakly. She shut her eyes tightly as she moved her hand to cover them. It was too bright here.... She was a vampire now... Whether she liked it or not.[/style]
