It was raining, thundering, wind blowing - the whole ordeal. No one wanted to be outside tonight, but there were still a few Team Plasma members wandering the streets of the small city. Although the atmosphere was unbearable for the usual civilian, it was perfect for someone to, say, sneak into some place.
Rain almost drifted between the shrubs and trees around the town. She was more the glad that she had grown up here and knew the city like the back of her hand. That would definitely make getting to the lab much easier. Even though Professor Juniper wasn't there any longer, she'd still heard stories of someone else handing out pokemon there.
The town was quiet. Anyone who was left here was asleep or hiding away from the storm. Rain wasn't though. She had journeyed from her usual attire for darker wear to blend in more easily. The thunder and rain covered her footsteps as she ran through the streets, making her way to the pokemon lab where she would get her first pokemon that would help her in her journey. She was interested in gaining badges, yes, but her ultimate goal was to become strong enough to help fend off Team Plasma once more.
She paused in a small alley, hiding against a wall as one of the members passed by, holding her breath. But then she thought about the pokemon. What did she even want? Something small and swift. What about rattatta? No, there couldn't be any other rattatta than her Rattatta. What type did she even want? She frowned, watching as the Team Plasma member walked off, deciding the area was clear. She slunk off into the night again.
It didn't take her much longer to reach the lab. She tried the door but it was locked. She sighed, wondering now how she would get in. She moved around to the other side of the building and tried the back door as well but got the same result. She pulled out two hairpins from her head. She hadn't really ever lockpicked before, but she knew the idea of it. And actually it didn't take long before she had the keylock turning open. She stepped into the dark building and looked around.
Once Rain had closed the door she removed the dark poncho she'd been wearing to keep herself dry and dropped it on the floor. "Hello?" she asked into the darkness.

She stared the young girl down with cautious eyes, tilting her head to one side. "And who might you be?" she asked, voice low and seething with accusation. "If you belong with Team Plasma, then off with you! I don't have the time nor the patience to deal with them." she stated, then her dark eyes blinked at how innocent this young girl looked. Leaning her head forward to her level, the woman examined the timid female, then stood straight slowly.
"You don't look like a Plasma member..." she observed, patting her pointy chin with her index finger, then a pleased smile creased her lips. "OH! I get it! You're here for your first Pokemon, aren't you?" she asked, clapping her hands together with glee. Before the young girl could say a word, she skipped around her, then gave her a toothy grin. "I apologize for accusing you of being one of Team Plasma. But anyway! What type of Pokemon are you looking for? Water? Psychic?" she asked the young girl, placing her nail polished hands on her hips, waiting for her reply.[/style] |

The girl was met by another woman, someone taller than herself. She frowned at her, mainly at the tone of her voice when she first spoke, accusing her of being a Team Plasma member. She opened her mouth to speak, but stopped, face moving back a bit as the womans neared hers. It was awkward, to say the least. Person space required, you see.
"That's because I'm not a Team Plasma member," she said, finally. Rain looked at the woman expectantly once she finally figured out why she was actually there. 'That's exactly why I'm here, sheesh,' she though while listening to what the woman said. After awkwardly watching the woman dance around her, she finally asked what type she'd like, after apologizing.
Rain smiled. Her first pokemon. But then the thought came up again: what type did she want her first one to be? It had to be special - it would probably be the pokemon that would define her as a trainer, and, more importantly, be her greatest friend during her journey. "I actually hadn't put too much thought into it.. but what flying and dragon types do you have now? Or maybe some normal types?"

"Ah, all three are good choices. Give me just a moment, please!" she spoke, looking around for a good Pokemon for the young girl. Tapping her chin with her index finger, she began to think. A Flying, Normal, or Dragon type, huh? An idea flashed in her mind and she grinned, reaching out for a Pokeball and handing it to the girl.
"Here's the cool part about this Pokemon. It starts out as a Normal and Flying type, but when it evolves, it's a Dragon and Flying type! I feel that this cutie will become a good member of your team! You take good care of it!"

Rain took the pokeball, looking at it with excitement and also wonder. 'A pokemon that's Normal and Flying, then evolves into Dragon and Flying? What could it be?' It was, indeed, everything she had asked for - strangely all three types. She knew that some pokemon changed their type when they evolved, but she had no idea what this one could be sense the woman didn't even say its name.
She opened the pokeball up to find a little blue and white bird pokemon inside it. It's wings were white and looked like clouds, but its body was light blue, and it had little black eyes and little white bird feet. Rain smiled. "Aww, it's so cute!!" she said, gathering the Swablu into her arms and hugging it. Best of all, it was blue! And ever better of all, it was her pokemon! The little pokemon chittered and nuzzled Rain, somewhat confusedly.
Rain set the pokemon down again and looked at it. "How about it, Swablu? Do you want me as your trainer?" The little pokemon flapped its wings, sending it into the air a few feet, sounding happy and cheerful. Maybe it was happy it didn't have to sit in a pokeball anymore. The girl smiled and looked back to the woman. "I'll definitely take care of her!" she replied, then held an arm out for the Swablu to perch on.
"Come on Swablu," she said, heading toward the door. "We've got a lot to do." And with that, the two headed out the door, back into the rain.
