yes! the day had finally come, at long last. four days ago, jayden had finally turned seventeen, the age that his parents said was acceptable for him to venture to nuvema town in order to get his first pokemon. the boy grinned with excitement as he made his way there, carefully avoiding running into any wild pokemon. well, they weren't really the problem. what jayden was actually being careful avoiding were the members of team plasma that were practically patrolling the area.

with an astonished expression, jayden watched as they moved around, as if watching, waiting, for something to come. with a glance around, it didn't take the green-haired boy too long to notice the old pokemon laboratory. these plasma jerks must be pretty stupid if they don't know that lab is giving pokemon away! he thought, sneaking around to it. there were a few buildings he was able to hide behind before finally making it there. taking a quick glance around, he pushed the door open and stumbled in. upon looking around the old place, he quickly brought his attention back to the door, which he closed quietly.

"hello?" he called out, somewhat softly. he figured if there was anyone in here, they'd probably hear him talking. with a frown, he realized that no one had immediately answered him. he took a few steps in and stopped, still taking the room in as if someone would have miraculously appeared in some corner of the room while he wasn't looking. "i'm here to pick up my first pokemon.." he frowned deeper, unsure if he was actually at the right place. what if this lab had already been abandoned or something? did that mean he wasn't getting a pokemon after all?

It was quite un-busy really. The pink haired lady was quite glad for this. She liked the peace and quiet, until a boy barged in and disrupted her peace and quiet. She wasn't one to show emotions, or even have them really. So, she simply huffed a little bit to herself. "hello?" The pink haired lady wasn't sure if she liked this boy or not. It didn't matter though, he'd soon leave the laboratory. Even so, she kept silent, watching him. "i'm here to pick up my first pokemon.." He wasn't from Team Plasma, but he was quite rude. Barging in unannounced and un-invited. She had half the mind not to give him a Pokémon. "Pokémon are given to those who can handle them. Those who can handle them, do not enter without permission." She said. "Permission is granted to those who ask." She practically spat the sentence at him. She was not in a good mood currently. Did the kids of today have no manners? "Types are suggested by those with permission. Suggestions taken, but not promised to the individual." She said. "What types do you suggest?" [/style]

when he suddenly heard the lady speak, he jumped a little and frowned at her words. he hadn't realized he was barging in, really. "i-i'm so sorry, it's just that there were team plasma guys right outside and i didn't want them to see me coming in here.." he poked his fingertips together nervously, his face flushed a light pink, severely contrasting with his minty green hair. well, he wasn't starting this journey off very well..

at the moment, he almost felt bad for asking for a pokemon from someone who obviously wasn't happy with him. he had half the mind to just leave and try again next year. but he'd come so far.. jayden kept his eyes on the floor as he answered, for some reason afraid of this lady. "u-um.. i'd like something cute-like, i think.. maybe a water type? or electric? maybe.." truth was, he hadn't given much thought to what pokemon he actually wanted. he'd always had a dream of having something cute and fluffy-like, like a dog or cat-type pokemon. but after what the pink-haired lady said, he wasn't so sure if he was going to get what he wanted.

"i'm sorry again, for barging in without knocking.. i just promised my parents that i wouldn't be seen by any plasma members and they're all over the place.." truth was, he'd been a little scared of getting caught by one. team plasma wasn't a group known for being nice and friendly. he knew they stole pokemon, but what if he was caught without one? besides, he'd thought this lab would have people walking around, sort of like a more public place..it hadn't occurred to him that this lady might have viewed it as a private home-like place. but he feared he might have already ruined his first impression.

The others that had dropped by the laboratory had always knocked and never barged in without permission. It was odd that this boy did that. No matter, it wasn't good to dwell on the past. After all, he had apologized. Cute-like? She didn't take that sort of suggestion. A water or electric type, she could do that. She could do that quite well actually. As she turned to fetch him the right Pokémon, he apologized once again. She waved it off, she didn't care. He had apologized once and that was enough for her. She swiped a Pokéball off of the shelf, and collected a starter's pack as well. She waltzed back over to the boy and handed him the pack and Pokémon. "Bad fortune comes to bad trainer, be weary of those who stand on the dark side of the line young one." She said. "Now, be gone." She shoo'ed him away, he seemed like a boy with nice intentions, but he obviously didn't show them in the right way. No matter, it was done and over with. the lady didn't really say anything before she turned to go into the back. jayden shuffled his feet a little, waiting awkwardly for her to return with whatever she decided jayden was going to have. was water and electric what he'd wanted originally? well, he didn't really know. he hadn't given it too much thought because he knew he'd love whatever pokemon he was given.

finally, the lady came back and handed him a pokeball and what he took to be a starter pack. interested in what pokemon he was given, he tossed it in the air quietly, and watched as a small, blue, fish-like pokemon came out, materializing in the lab with a small smile on its tiny face. "i love him! thank you so much," jayden said, nodding. but then the lady was shooing him out, and so he returned chinchou back into its pokeball and escaped outside after bidding her farewell.
